For every one Nokia was their first phone. I am talking about the time when Smartphones were not in the picture. Siemens rode on the fortune it made from the apocalypse-proof Nokia phones. But the company started to lose its market share after the advent of the Google-powered Android OS. Nokia was one of the last manufacturers to embark upon the Android vessel and in the meantime, Nokia loyalists moved on to the relatively cheap and feature-rich Android-powered smartphones.
It seems now that after being bought by Microsoft, Nokia has now decided to shed Windows OS in favour of the Android OS for its upcoming smartphones. The upcoming Nokia 6 smartphone launched after Nokia sold its smartphone division to Foxconn and HMD Global has taken the smartphone market by surprise. Nokia 6 which is to be sold online first in China exclusively through JD.com has received over 1 million registration applications for the flash sale scheduled on January 19.
It was anticipated by market pundits that Nokia 6 will certainly create some new records as it is the first smartphone in the past three years to come out with a Nokia branding and on the top of it, Nokia 6 will run Android N. Around 250,000 people had already registered on JD.com in the first 24-hours after the registrations for Nokia 6 commenced.
To recall, Nokia 6 features a 5.5-inch FHD display with an added protective layer of 2.5D Gorilla Glass. This dual-SIM smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC processor along with 4GB of RAM. Nokia 6 will come with 64GB of internal storage. Talking about the optics, Nokia 6 sports a 16MP rear camera which comes with autofocus, dual-tone flash and f/2.0 aperture and on the front is an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also features a fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers which come with Dolby Atoms audio enhancements. Nokia 6 gets its juice from a 3000mAh battery which comes with fast-charging technology.
Nokia 6 is listed on JD.com at a price of CNY 1,699. HMD is planning to launch a whole series of Android powered Nokia smartphones in the upcoming time.
